OpenAI scaled back ChatGPT's Instant Checkout and shifted checkout into partner apps, The Information reported, according to Digiday. Retailers involved said the feature did not add sales and are now letting ChatGPT handle discovery while keeping transactions on their own sites. OpenAI said in a March 24 blog post that merchants should keep their checkout experience and that early Instant Checkout did not offer the flexibility it wanted.
